The Homes

Three Ways to Put Down Roots

Ballantry’s plan for Hillsburgh mixes single-level bungalows with two-storey detached homes and freehold towns, aimed at downsizers, growing families and first-time buyers within one community. Final floor plans and a confirmed price list haven’t been released — here’s what’s been shared so far.

The Village

Where Main Street Still Means Something

Long before it was a builder’s site plan, Hillsburgh was a mill town — built up around a pond that once powered the Gooderham & Worts distillery in 1832. That history is still visible on the ground: a walkable Main Street, a library, ballfields and a rail-trail that runs right past the community.

Ballantry’s community plan for Hillsburgh leans into that heritage rather than paving over it, layering in the parks, trails and gathering spaces a growing village actually needs.

  • The Elora-Cataract Trailway — 47 kilometres of hiking and biking trail directly beside the community
  • Barbour Field — two baseball diamonds and seven soccer fields for weekend games
  • Historic Main Street Hillsburgh — shops, a library and a village centre you can walk to
  • New parks and protected forest woven through Ballantry’s community plan
  • The historic millpond — site of the 1832 Gooderham & Worts distillery
  • The Erin Conservation Area, a short drive from your front door

The Builder

Built by Ballantry Homes

Ballantry Homes has been building across the Greater Toronto Area and the Niagara region for more than 35 years. Alongside Hillsburgh, they’re currently selling Spring Valley Village in Brampton and preparing to launch Harbour and Green in Port Dover — a builder with more than one community underway is usually one that plans to be around to service the home you buy.

Questions

Common Questions

Has The Village of Hillsburgh started selling?

Not yet. Ballantry Homes has this community listed as coming soon, with a target launch of September 2026, and hasn’t published a final price list or floor plans. Registering now adds you to the priority list so you hear as soon as that changes.

What kinds of homes will be built?

Bungalows, two-storey detached homes and freehold towns, in Hillsburgh in the Town of Erin, from Ballantry Homes. Pricing was last publicly advertised from the $580s — treat that as a past figure until Ballantry confirms a current list.

Will I qualify for an HST rebate?

Possibly, through the federal/provincial New Housing Rebate available on eligible new-home purchases across Ontario — a government program set by the CRA, not something specific to Hillsburgh or offered by Ballantry Homes. Register and Dave can walk you through how it may apply once pricing is public.
